The North Shore LIFE Centre
provides community-based resources and services to disabled people, family/ whanau, support people and health proffesionals - where disabled people are represented in governance, planning and staffing,modelling the New Zealand Disability Strategy.
The North Shore LIFE Centre puts people in touch with ideas.
People can come in and look around a kitchen, lounge, bedroom, bathroom, office and childs room to see first hand how modifications can be made to their new or existing home. Child Development Services, Waitemata District Health Board are located on the first floor along with a gymnasium, and on the second level there is a wonderful synergy of community organisations with a connection to the disability sector; Arthritis NZ North Shore, Mobility Assistance Dogs Trust, Renaissance Consulting, Epilepsy North Shore and Rodney, Muscular Dystrophy, Hearing Therapy Services, Brain Injury Auckland, Brain Injury NZ, FADE and The Cerebral Palsy Society.
